Why have we chosen to focus on executive reporting in commercial real estate?

It’s a question several people asked after reading my previous post on connecting numbers and narrative

The interesting part is that executive reporting was never really the destination. It was simply where we discovered the bigger opportunity: helping executives see—and understand—the business.

Once we saw it that way, another question naturally followed:

What kind of information environment enables informed, timely executive decisions?

That question has shaped almost everything we’ve built since because it aligns with our belief that every business exists to create value, and as organizations grow, so does the information required to create that value.

If that information becomes more connected, rather than simply more abundant, perhaps organizations can create more value without complexity becoming the limiting factor.

That’s the vision behind Refined Data.

Not better reports, but a unified information platform that helps organizations create more value by connecting the information-already distributed across their business systems-with the knowledge of the people who run them.

The infographic below summarizes that thinking at a very high level but I’d be interested to hear whether you think the industry’s biggest opportunity lies in continuing to optimize individual functions—or in better connecting the information that already exists across the enterprise.
